Community African Dance Classes
Whether you’ve been dancing your whole life or want to try something new, African dance with Fatawu is fun, creative and invigorating!
WITH LIVE DRUMMING!
All abilities and levels welcome.
Our African dance classes introduce the traditional music, dance and culture of West Africa. Class begins with warm-up exercises to help you build strength, stamina, flexibility and coordination.The rest of class is devoted to learning authentic West African dances and song as well as their history and cultural context.

Community African Drum Class Series
Master drummer Fatawu (“Fah-tah-ooh”) Sayibu brings the joy of West African drumming to the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area. Join us for basic drum technique as well as more complex rhythms.
